With great sense of humility, we present to you, the man of the moment, to lead Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Ilemona Atabor, the APC candidate for Kogi State October 19th local council elections.
By the special grace of God, having been found physically and mentally sound, ideologically prepared, development driven and politically worthy, his party (APC) leaders and stakeholders unanimously adopted him as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming chairmanship race, Igalamela/Odolu LGA.
Recognizing the fact that power comes from God, through the people, it is absolutely humbling to present Hon. Barr. Atabor, for your kind consideration, acceptance, support, and prayers on this journey towards the greatness of Igalamela /Odolu local government.
Your support is very key to the success of the election and achieving the laudable plans of Hon. (Barr.) Atabor for the local government.
COMMITMENT:
✓ Accountability: The administration will ensure judicious and transparent utilisation of local government allocations, and be accountable to the people on how funds are utilized.
✓ Inclusivity: The administration shall be consultative. It will recognize and partner all well-meaning stakeholders (institutions/associations/organizations/groups/individuals) of the local government, providing opportunities to be heard and to contribute towards the growth and development of the area.
✓ Security: Peace and Security will be of great concern to the administration. Without peace and security, nothing meaningful can be achieved. Hence, required attention shall be given to security outfits to ensure a safe, peaceful and conducive environment for orderly citizens while ensuring unconducive atmosphere for criminal elements to incubate.
✓ Education: Education will be a great priority. The administration will do all it takes to ensure quality foundation for the children. Qualitative elementary education is pivotal to the educational growth of a child. Quality teachers will be engaged at all levels of schools within the local government’s purview, while trainings and other incentives will be provided to motivate the teachers to give their very best in enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. The administration shall assist students seeking admissions into higher institutions and also, provide support as much as possible to students at tertiary levels to ease their burden and inspire them to achieve their dreams.
✓ Health Care: Health is Wealth. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation! The administration shall ensure that available primary health care facilities are equipped and functional. Areas needing health facilities will be provided. There shall be collaboration with reputable health organizations to extend medical aids to the people where and when necessary. Periodic sanitation exercise will be introduced to build a culture of cleanliness and have the community healthy.
✓ Infrastructure: Infrastructure is critical to development. Road network in particular is a major challenge in the local government. By the special grace of God, the state of roads will be significantly improved. The administration shall identify feeder roads for quick fix and those for major attention. These will be done accordingly, to ease mobility, support agricultural output and ameliorate erosion menace. Street layouts and street naming will be worked on.
Provision of portable water is another critical area of need. The administration shall explore all avenues to deliver on the provision of water for the people. Resuscitation of available water facilities will be hastened while new points will be constructed to make water accessible to the people. Communities will be connected to electricity where feasible.
Major markets across the local government will be given facelift. Market areas deserving remodeling and public facilities will be done to meet modern expectations and boost commercial activities. The Etemahi’s palace project will be realised under the administration by God’s grace. The Ajaka Multipurpose township hall will be renovated and well furnished.
✓ Economic Empowerment: The administration shall support Small and Medium Scale businesses which are economic drivers of every society. Petty traders, market women and artisans shall be beneficiaries of the administration’s Economic Empowerment Scheme. The administration shall establish vocational centers to enable the youths acquire sustainable skills to keep them engaged and empowered to live a meaningful life.
✓ Food Security: Agriculture as the mainstay of the people will receive adequate attention. The administration will fully support farmers with all that is required to upscale their farm yields. Farm inputs shall be provided. Available tractors will be serviced and availed for optimal use, while security concerns impeding farm activities will be stemmed.
✓ Employment: The administration shall create enabling environment for meaningful engagement. Through direct employment into the service of the local government and other engagement opportunities that will be provided by potential development activities around the local government, hundreds of people will find placements to earn a living and live a descent life.
The administration will however, not be completely limited to the above. Other areas will receive considerable attention based on available resources.
