The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has congratulated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his victory at the Supreme Court on the governorship election tussle between him and the Social Democratic Party candidate, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu.
Rt Hon Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba gave the message shortly after the Supreme Court ruling which dismissed all appeals against the rulings of the Tribunal and the Appeal Court. The five-man Supreme Court justices dismissed Muritala Yakubu’s appeals for lacking in merrit.
The Deputy Speaker said Governor Ododo had been ordained by God to rule Kogi State, hence the need for everyone to jettison all political, regional and tribal differences and pray for him to succeed.
The Deputy Speaker also said the Supreme Court affirmation of Governor Usman Ododo as the duly elected Governor of Kogi State had placed on him the huge task of uniting the state and charting a brand new course of all round development across Kogi.
She said if Ododo put God first, he would succeed. She therefore called on the people of the state to pray for the Governor, his Deputy and his team for a better Kogi State.
Elated Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba used the opportunity to charge all opposition parties and members to now bury their political hatchets and consider ways to help government bring development to the state generally.
She pledged her loyalty and modest contribution in her capacity as a state lawmaker and as the Deputy Speaker.
