Mopa Traditional Council (MTC) has presented an operational motorcycle donated by Kogi State’s Former Deputy Governor, His Excellency (Arc.) Yomi Awoniyi to Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Kabba Area Office.
The motorcycle was presented at the palace, and under the rulership of the Elulu of Mopa and Chairman, Mopamuro Traditional Council His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun by the Alamuro of Amuro, His Royal Highness, Oba (Engr.) Alfred Modupe Aiyedogbon at the instance of Mopa Traditional Council and other Chiefs from Amuro, communities.
The Elulu of Mopa, Oba Ibeun, during his remarks, appreciated the donor, H.E. Arc. Yomi Awoniyi for the donation and support for the continuous development of Mopa and Mopamuro Local Government.
He promised the AEDC that the community would continually support and urge them to also offer the best service to the community.
Oba Ibeun also assured that lighting up Mopamuro is a work in progress, that the motorcycle will enable the AEDC to trace all faults of power lines into the interlands of Mopamuro.
He further sensitized the community on the need and importance to protect government/AEDC property, stressing that security of power facilities serves as an advantage to the community first and there after the AEDC and government.
The Alamuro, during the presentation, also applauded the donor, saying that persons like him with good hearts of donation for community development are needed.
He also appreciates Oba Ibeun for his frantic effort to unite Mopamuro and ensure it develops.
Oba Aiyedogbon also urged the AEDC to ensure the motorcycle is used for the purpose it was donated for, assured that Mopamuro will join effort to ensure they support AEDC in order to enjoy more constant power supply.
The Kabba Area Manager of AEDC, while accepting the donation, said they appreciate the Mopamuro community for their support in recent times, assured them that the AEDC team will do their best in delivering the best service to Mopamuro.
