Deputy Speaker Praises Governor Ododo for Approving N72, 500 Minimum Wage*

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has praised the State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for approving the new minimum wage of the workers in the state.

She gave the commendation shortly after the Governor made the pronouncement of the new salary scale in Lokoja, the state Capitol.

The Governor had announced that the minimum wage in Kogi would stand at N72, 500 with all taxes waved for a period of one year, saying the new wahe would take immediate effect.

Elated Deputy speaker expressed joy that the workers in Kogi would smile home with better salary packages, which would improve their performance and standard of living. She said this gesture was highly commendable as it had surpassed the amount benchmarked by the federal government.

Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba extolled Governor Ododo for his people-oriented leadership and pledged the support of the people of her constitiency and the legislative arm in his government.

The Deputy Speaker used the occasion to urge workers to take advantage of the new salary package to work harder for the overall development and efficient service delivery in Kogi State.

Hon Comfort Nwuchiola expressed optimism that the state workforce would be a better place with Governor Ododo. She prayed God to bless him with more wisdom.
