The Executive Chairman of Ajaokuta local government, Hon. Haruna Aliyu Ogido has asserted to run a government based on transparency, accountability, fairness and with the fear of God. Hon.
Haruna Ogido stated his while addressing the people of Ajaokuta local government during the swearing in of the councillors at the council secretariat, Adogo. He called for unalloyed support of the people for the total transformation of the council through cardinal programmes on the development of major sectors of the economy and policies that will significantly improve their living standard economically, politically and socially. The chairman who promised to trade with the people with humility, assured that will not derail the confidence reposed in them. He reminded the councillors of the task ahead and they should not hesitate to hit the ground running with good legislations to ameliorate the suffering of the people of Ajaokuta local government. Hon. Shrubs Ogido acknowledged with thanks the unwavering struggle and commitment of the leaders of kogi state APC chapter and former Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and his successor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Kidman Ododo for their untiring struggle to uplift the socio-economic and political standard of the people of kogi state to enviable position. He again applauded the Governor and Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Joel Oyibo for their administrative ingenuity in handling state matters in the local government. The Council Boss expressed his gratitude to the APC apex leader in the local government, Hon. Sannii Egidi Abdulraheem for his willingness and mentorship as they will continue to thrive for better Ajaokuta local government under his tutelage. Hon. Haruna Ogido who was mindful of the contributions of party leaders, stakeholders and members, commended APC chairman in Ajaokuta LGA, Mall. Yusuf Yakubu for their steadfastness to the course of their elective struggle and victory at council poll. The chairman called for constructive advise, suggestions and criticism that will help the new administration to accomplish its vision and mission for the transformation of Ajaokuta local government. The swearing in was performed by Justice E.I Joshua who administered oaths of Office, Allegiance and secrecy on councillors. Speaking on behalf of the councillors, the councillor representing Geregu ward, Hon. Abdullah Siyaka called for team work to make positive marks in the present administration to make Ajaokuta LGA better than they met it with good legislations. .The inauguration ceremony was attended by politicians, traditional rulers, civil servants and well wishers of the councillors and present administration. In another development, the Ajaokuta local government legislative council has elected its principal officers. According to the council clerk, Mall. Okikiri Z. Omuya, Hon. Jimoh Ayijimoh representing Odonu-Ohuege ward emerged as Council Leader, Hon. Ismaila Sadiku from Ebiya South became Deputy council leader, Hon Suleiman Idris of Ogigiri elected majority leader while Hon. AbdulAzeez Isiaka from Geregu wArd retained Deputy Majority leader as chief whip went to Hon. Salatu Lami Ibrahim representing Ajaokuta ward with Hon. Idris Rukayat of Badoko ward clinched Deputy chief whip.
