Esteemed guests, fellow citizens,
I crave your indulgence to stand on existing protocol
Today, I stand before you to emphasize the critical importance of government patronage to our local industries and their value chain providers.
In an era of globalization and fierce competition, nurturing and supporting our domestic economy is not just a patriotic duty, but an economic imperative for sustainable growth and development.
Some of these consequences include; Job Losses, Reduced Economic Activity, Capital Flight and Dependence on Imports. However, the solution lies within our grasp. By prioritizing the purchase of locally produced goods and services to; Stimulate Job Creation, Strengthen the Economy, Develop Local Expertise and Reduce Dependence on Imports
I therefore urge our government to consider implementing the following measures to support ventures like that of BEBM Exhibitions to promote; Mandatory Preference for Local Goods, Capacity Building Support, Market Access Initiatives and Public Awareness Campaigns.
Our company, CREDCO NIG. LTD. and it’s subsidiaries have been a major player in the power sector with specialization in Renewable energy. Presently in conjunction with our foreign partners, we’re executing one of the largest Wind Power farms based in Katsina State which feed substantial megawatts of power into the power grid distribution network.
As at today, CREDCO , in conjunction with our foreign partners, proposing a major partnership venture with the Kogi State Government for Solar Powered renewable energy in the state.
CREDCO is prepared to engage the Kogi state Commissioner of Works pretty soon in the provision of raw materials, like granite, stone dust, and boulders, that are key primary materials in the construction industry on the possible ways of getting them at a rock bottom prices to lessen the cost of road construction and building of low cost houses for our citizenry.
It is going to be a partnership and our corporate social responsibility contribution to the laudable projects that our amiable governor has begun across the state.it is also our own way of encouraging his govt to do a lot more using his limited budget that is meant to achieve a lot.
We are encouraging kogites in Diaspora to come home and partner with His Excellency to build the gate way state of choice.
May I at this point commend the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for his giant strides in the area of Infrastructural projects. May I at this juncture advise the state government to imbibe the approach of ease of doing business to encourage investors into the State. A situation where an applicant waits for upwards of a year or more to precess C-of-O should be looked into
I thank and appreciate BEBM for their foresight in promoting local industries and I call on those of us operating in the Built Environment to partner with them in subsequent exhibitions. We thank you for finding us worthy of this award.
In conclusion, by embracing a policy of “Buy made in Nigeria,” we can unleash the full potential of our domestic economy, create a more equitable and prosperous society, and build a nation that is truly self-reliant and globally competitive.
Thank you for your attention.
