As the world all over celebrates the 2024 Christmas, the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba has congratulated Christians in Kogi State and members of the Assembly for witnessing another merry Christmas.
In a message issued to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, Rt. Hon. Nwuchiola Egwaba who is representing Ibaji State Constituency expressed her heartfelt for Christians across the State for witnessing another Christmas celebration which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Deputy Speaker charged the Christian faithful to use the unique occasion to pray for Kogi State, the Governor His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and other leaders in the State for the peace, progress and socio-economic development of the State and Nigeria in general.
According to her, nothing can be achieve under the atmosphere of crises and rancour and therefore, stressed the need for peaceful coexistence between Christians and other religions.
“At this auspicious occasion of Christmas we should be guided by the lessons of the Christmas season, which is anchored on love, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence.
“Irrespective of our faith , we can learn from the enduring legacies of the life of Jesus Christ who sacrificed his life for the redemption of our souls on this earth” she stated.
While wishing Christians God’s guidance and abundant blessings, she called for support for the administration of His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, saying his laudable programmes and plans for the State should be supported to enable him achieve more for the State.
The Deputy Speaker congratulated Christians for witnessing another Christmas and prayed to Almighty God for many more Christmas in good health and prosperity.
