The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aliyu Usman Yusuf has assured that the 8th Assembly will continue to ensure that the resources of the State are equitably distributed among the three senatorial districts.
Rt. Hon. Yusuf stated this on Friday while speaking on behalf of Kogi West during the birth day celebration of the Deputy Speaker of the House Rt.Hon. Comfort ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba and commissioning of her new house held in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
According to him, the 8th Assembly are made up of competent members who are very willing to ensure that development reaches all the part of the state.
“The House that we are privilege to lead today, we are doing every thing with the fear of God , justice , fairness and equitable distribution of the state resources will come to bear. We are not perfect but our concern is how the state will achieve the desired development” the Speaker stated.
Eulogizing the Deputy Speaker for attaining another new age in her life, the Speaker said the choice of Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba as the Deputy Speaker when the late Enema Paul resigned his position due to ill health has brought a lot of achievements to the House.
He described her as an experience politician who has held many positions in the local government administration, saying her choice as the next Deputy Speaker gave him utmost relief as she is loaded with enormous experience to move the House forward.

Aside the truth and unity of purpose that existed among the principal officers of the House , the Deputy Speaker often time display the role of a mother to us by carrying every body along in whatever she does.
“As you add additional year to your life today I wish you good health and prosperity. As you are a good advocate of women inclusivity in politics God will give you the strength to achieve a lot for women in the political landscape of Kogi State and Nigeria in general
“You will live peacefully with your family in this house we just commission, God will protect this house for both day and night” the Speaker said.
Also speaking on behalf of the members from Kogi central Hon. Abu Onoru – Oiza Jibrin
representing Ajaokuta State constituency, described the Deputy Speaker as a woman of substance who has been giving comfort to the Assembly.
He commended her for pursuing issues that bothered on women, noting that “As you clocked another year today may the lord protect and safeguard you and your entire family members.
“On behalf of the good people of Kogi central senatorial district we wish you long life and abundant prosperity” he added.
Speaking on behalf of Kogi East the member representing Dekina/ Biraidu Hon. Ochidi Usman Shehu commended the former governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello for discovering the Deputy Speaker who have been hiding herself , not knowing that a golden fish does not have a hiding place in the river.
According to him , in the last one year of her membership in the Kogi State House of Assembly , she has been playing motherly role to all the members including the Speaker of the House.
He suggested that another name “Mother of the legislative of the State” be added to her name for her exemplary leadership style she has been displaying in the Assembly.
He described her as a good woman and a detribalize lawmaker who see every members of the House as one irrespective of tribe and religion.
“On behalf of the people of Kogi East senatorial district we pray that God that has kept us together as one will continue to do that for the betterment of the Assembly and Kogi State in general.
In her vote of thanks, the celebrant and Deputy Speaker of the House representing Ibaji State constituency Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba expressed her modest appreciation to all members of the Assembly and the people of Ibaji local government for celebrating with her.
She charged women that are in politics to be resolute in pursuing their dreams in politics , saying Kogi State and the country at large need more women in leadership positions for the betterment of the nation.
