
The Executive Chairman, Mopamuro Local Government Area, Hon. Ademola Bello, has presented the 2025 budget proposal to the council’s legislative arm.
The budget, tagged “Budget of Restoration,” is projected at N5,049,931,890, marking a significant financial allocation aimed at fostering development and addressing critical needs in the local government area.
Bello, while presenting the proposal, outlined the breakdown of the estimated revenue sources. He stated that statutory allocation would account for the largest share, with a projected figure of N2,573,729,070. This is followed closely by Value Added Tax (VAT), which is estimated at N2,202,766,120.
The chairman also highlighted the role of internally generated revenue (IGR) in the proposed budget, stating that it is projected at N58,000,000. In addition, other revenue sources are expected to contribute N215,436,700 to the total budget.
The Council Chairman explained that the budget’s primary focus is on accelerating infrastructural development, improving social services, and enhancing the overall standard of living in Mopamuro.
He noted that prudent management of available resources would be a key strategy in ensuring the success of the budget.
He urged the council’s legislative arm to critically examine the budget and expedite its passage, reiterating the need for collaborative efforts to achieve the set goals.
The council leader, Hon. Mrs Olupeka welcomed the Chairman and his entourage, assuring the executive arm of a robust executive-llegislator relationship, which is one of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s watch word.
