The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM, Alh. Tijjani Ahmed-Anaje, has pledged his full support for the implementation of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project in Kogi.
Ohinoyi gave the assurance when the AGILE team led by the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Bello Abdulhakeem, paid an advocacy visit to his palace on Thursday in Okene, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi.
The monarch, while gave his royal blessings to the project, emphasised its importance in improving education and empowerment opportunities for young girls in the state.
The royal father commended the initiative, describing it as a transformative step toward enhancing access to quality education, particularly for adolescent girls in Ebiraland and Kogi at large.
Ahmed-Anaje expressed deep appreciation for government’s commitment to addressing challenges that hinder the education and empowerment of young girls, ensuring they have a brighter future.
He urged community members, parents, and stakeholders to embrace the project wholeheartedly.
The Ohinoyi stressed the need for collective effort in ensuring its success, noting that the education of girls is fundamental to the progress of society.
“The AGILE project is not just a policy; it is a vision for the future of our daughters and our land.
“Education remains the bedrock of development, and no society can truly advance if its girls are left behind. I urge our people to support this initiative fully.
“I assure you we will take active steps to sensitize other royal fathers across Ebiraland, ensuring the message reaches every corner of the region,” Ohinoyi said.
The monarch further reiterated his commitment to working closely with relevant authorities to foster the smooth implementation of the program.
Earlier, Dr. Abdulhakeem, expressed gratitude for the royal endorsement, emphasizing that the support of traditional institutions was crucial for the success of the initiative.
The coordinator noted that the project aimed to remove barriers that prevent adolescent girls from accessing and completing secondary education, especially in rural communities.
Abdulhakeem emphasised that with the backing of Ohinoyi and other traditional leaders about AGILE project’s awareness would significantly increase.
This, he said would ensure that families would allow their daughters to pursue education without hindrance.
“The role of our royal fathers in community development cannot be overstated.
“With your support, we can accelerate the implementation of AGILE and bring lasting change to the lives of young girls in Kogi State,” Abdulhakeem added.
