Hon. Abidemi Adeyemi Condemns kidnapping epidemic in Yagba

The Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Hon Abidemi Adeyemi has vehemently condemned the recent attack on a revered Monarch, HRH Oba J.D Ogunyanda Ilufemiloye, the Obalohun of Okoloke in Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State.
According to him, such act of banditry and violence undermines the peace and stability essential for community development and societal progress.

He said :”We express our deepest solidarity with the Obalohun, the people of Okoloke, and the broader Yagba West community by extension during this troubling time”.

Hon Adeyemi Abidemi, in a statement issued from his base in Ilorin office, Kwara State urgently called
on all stakeholders including local government officials, security agencies, community leaders, civil society groups, and residents—to unite in addressing insecurity in Yagba West.

He emphasized that sustainable development cannot thrive in an environment of fear and instability.

Adeyemi reaffirmed his dedication to projects that would uplift communities within the purview of the Kwara/Kogi Lower Niger River Basin Authority.

He added quickly, however, that these efforts would depend on a secure environment.

“We urge all stakeholders to act decisively and uphold their roles in safeguarding lives and livelihoods. Insecurity in Yagba West is not merely a local issue but a collective challenge requiring immediate, coordinated action. The Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority stands and is ready to support initiatives that would restore peace and enable the region’s socio-economic aspirations to flourish”, he said
