
The Governor of Kogi State Ahmed Usman Ododo has congratulated the former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mathew Kolawole on attaining 60 years of age, noting that his stabilizing role when Kogi State was about to be turned upside down will never go un-notice.
Governor Ododo stated this during the 60th birthday thanksgiving service of Prince Mathew Kolawole at CAC Oke Igbala , Kabba, Kabba-Bunu local government area of Kogi state.
The Governor who was represented by the Special Adviser on Security to the State Government, Jerry Omodara, said his labour of love during former Governor Yahaya Bello’s tenure would not be forgotten.
Governor Ododo urged Prince Kolawole to continue to use his time and resources to serve the people , saying this is the best time to do more for the people.
He also promised to continue to ensure that dividends of democracy get to all the nooks and crannies of Kogi State , noting that township road projects have started in Aiyetoro, Mopa and Egbe towns .
“I prayed God to grant the celebrant many happy returns and for his heart desires to be granted”
In his speech Prince Mathew Kolawole who rendered many songs to appreciate God’s favour , expressed appreciation to Governor Usman Ododo for his leadership role and former Gov Yahaya Bello who ensured he had good records of achievements during his seven years as speaker of the state.
He promised that he would for ever be grateful to former Governor Bello for all his support during his tenure and expressed appreciation to the SSG whom he said people had wanted to throw spanners into their relationship but God smoothened it .
He thanked the Kabba/Bunu/ Ijumu representative in the National Assembly, Hon Salman Idris and many others who have generously donated to the development of the church.
