The wife of Kogi Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has urged citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, patience, and obedience to Allah.

Mrs Ododo made the call in message to the Muslim Ummah in Kogi on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir on Friday in Lokoja.

She emphasised the deep spiritual significance of the celebration, drawing inspiration from the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Ismail to Allah.

“As we journey through life, we must embrace patience and sacrifice, trusting in Allah’s divine wisdom to guide our paths.

“His blessings can transform our circumstances for the better,” she said.

The governor’s wife urged the people to demonstrate kindness and compassion by extending support to the less privileged to enable them to share in the joy and warmth of the season.

According to her, charity is vital during this period, hence the need to share joy by reaching out to those facing challenges, bringing smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts.

She also stressed the importance of unity, peace, and love for humanity, describing Eid-el-Kabir as a time for fostering togetherness and social harmony.

Hajiya Ododo appealed to parents and guardians to be vigilant during the festivities, and advised young people to shun social vices, and uphold strong moral values.

She urged continued prayers for Kogi State and Nigeria, stressing that peace, love, and harmony are essential for sustainable development and lasting prosperity. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
