In a thrilling encounter at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, Jordan Football Academy reclaimed the top spot in the Afriskaut Elite Super League with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Reigner FC on Match Day Five.
The victory saw Jordan FA surge to the top of the table with 11 points, ahead of FC Bako and Reigner FC.
The match got off to a flying start, with Reigner FC’s Akin Ola scoring an early goal against Jordan FA barely four minutes into the game.
However, Kehinde Suraju equalized for Jordan FA in the 22nd minute, setting the stage for a thrilling comeback.
Suraju sealed the win for Jordan FA with his second goal in the 79th minute, scoring from close range after a brilliant build-up play.
Isiak Abdulhakim dispossessed Enemona Umoru close to the Reigners defence, quickly racing towards goal before releasing the ball to Suraju, who eventually scored.
Jordan FA’s goalkeeper, Samson Samson, who made crucial saves to prevent Reigner FC from scoring. His impressive display earned him the Man of the Match (MVP) award.
Samson expressed his excitement over his team’s success, attributing his brilliant performance to the favor of God.
