Keyi described the death of Senator C. O. Adebayo as a huge loss to the people of the Middle Belt in particular and the Nigerian progressive community in general. He described the late governor as a frontliner in the democratic struggle against military rule. He further noted that Adebayo’ s emergence as a Senator in 1979 and as governor of the old kwara State in 1983 were testimonies of his deep connections with the grassroots people in the state, including
minority groups such as OgoriMagongo people.

He urged Governor Ododo to build on the virtues of inclusive governance, which signposts the CO Adebayo’s administration.
