Kogi Assembly Passes Three Bills For Assent

The Kogi State House of Assembly has passed a total of three bills, which is now awaiting the assent of the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The bills where passed by the lawmakers after clause by clause consideration during Thursday’s plenary siting in Lokoja.
The bills are a Bill for a Law to amend the Kogi State Commodity Exchange Export Promotion and Market Development Agency Law, 2024; Bill for a Law to Repeal the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency Law, 2005 and Enact the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency Law, 2025; and bill for a law to amend the Kogi State Oil Producing Area Development Commission Law, 2023.
Speaker of the House and Chairman of the Committee of a whole, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf commended the lawmakers for their dedication to duty.
“Thank you for been a very good representative of your people, I thank you for always been available so that we will put the necessary frame work for the state to kickstart sustainable development”.
The three bills passed are expected to be assented to by Kogi State Governor.
Meanwhile, four bills have passed second reading at the State House of Assembly.
The Bills which were exhaustively debated by the Lawmakers, were given a second reading and committed to the necessary committees.
The Bills are, Kogi State Agency for Climate Change (Establishment) Bill, 2025; Kogi State Heavy Duty Truck Restriction of Movement Bill, 2025; Kogi State Bureau of Lands Bill, 2025 and Kogi State Local Government Electoral Bill (Repeal and Enactment) 2025.
