Gov Ododo Atends World Cassava Day At State House, Abuja

The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Thursday attended the 2025 World Cassava Day celebration at the banquet hall of the State House, Abuja.

Governor Ododo was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, and accompanied by Hon. Timothy Ojoma, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Alhaji Muhammed Kadiri Okeji, the Managing Director of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency; Alhaji Bello George Ogirimae, the Managing Director of Kogi State Agricultural Development Project.

The program was at the instance of the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shetima, GCON.

Present at the ceremony were; Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State; Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, Deputy Governor of Akwaibom State, Senator Salihu Mustepha, Chairman Senate Commitee on Agriculture, Ambassador Yu Dunhai, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria; Ministers, Heads of Government Agencies and Departments, State Commissioners for Agriculture, Research Institutes, captains of industries, development partners, and National Youth Service Corps Members, among others.

The event which was put together by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Agribusiness and Productivity Enhancement, highlighted new frontiers in cassava commercialization, with special focus on youth led enterprise, sustainability and export readiness.
