It is with immense sadness and a heavy heart that the news of the passing of His Excellency, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), GCFR, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a London Hospital where he was receiving treatment, was received with deep sorrow.
President Buhari was, without doubt, a true patriot and a dedicated statesman who served our beloved nation with unwavering commitment. His legacy of selfless service, first as a military Head of State and later as a democratically elected President, will forever be etched in the annals of our history. He was a beacon of integrity and discipline, and his steadfast resolve to champion the unity and progress of Nigeria remains an inspiration to us all.
In this moment of profound grief, I extend my deepest condolences to his beloved wife, his children, the entire Buhari family, and indeed, all Nigerians who mourn his loss. My thoughts and prayers are also with the government and people of Katsina State, especially the people and traditional leaders of Daura Emirate.
We honour his remarkable life of service and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. His life will continue to inspire generations of Nigerians to serve our nation with courage and selflessness.
