
New Al-Hikmah Varsity VC tasked on honesty, team work
* Special prayer held for him as he assumes office

The Founder of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji has charged the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University to uphold honesty, uprightness and teamwork in the discharge of his duties.
The Founder, who is also the Jagunmolu of Igbominaland and Arogundade of Lagos, gave the charge at a special prayer organised to usher in the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Lateef Folorunso Oladimeji.
Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji noted that many people vied for the exalted position of the VC, but God chose Prof Oladimeji, while praying for his success.
Speaking further, the Founder of the University assured the council, management and staff of the institution of his continued support in ensuring that the varsity is further elevated to greater heights, aside from his unwavering support to the less privileged in the society as always.
The Arogundade of Lagos, therefore, urged the new VC to carry along all the management and entire staff of Al-Hikmah University in taking decisions, urging him to be prayerful “as only God can make one succeed in life”.
Alhaji Oladimeji used the occasion to appeal to Nigerians, particularly the well-heeled in the society to have the fear of God and assist the poor.
In his remarks, the immediate past VC of the institution, Prof Yusuf Noah, thanked the Founder, Council members, management and staff of the University for the support they gave him throughout his tenure, urging similar support to the new Vice Chancellor.
For his part, the new Vice Chancellor, Prof Oladimeji solicited the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed, promising to operate an open door policy.
He thanked the Founder, Council members, management and staff for considering him fit to occupy the exalted position.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu, had led special prayers in honour of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor at the Adewole residence of the Founder, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji.
Sheikh Soliu prayed God to protect and guide the new Vice Chancellor in the discharge of his duties.
The Chief Imam described Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji as a hardworking man that has the fear of God, and whom God has blessed with tremendous knowledge.
According to him, Al-Hikmah University has gone International and would continue to grow.
Others who spoke at the event were; Imam Yunus Akorede, the Imam of Igbajaland, Chairman, Ifelodun local government area, Hadji Femi Yusuf and Professor Qaasim Badmaasi of Al-Hikmah University who extolled the virtues of the Founder, the immediate past VC and the new VC, while specifically lauding Alhaji AbdulRaheem Oladimeji for upholding the University since inception.
The prayer was well attended by management and staff of the institution, families, friends and associates of the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Oladimeji, from Igbaja, Oko-Ode and Lagos.
Meanwhile, the new Vice Chancellor has formally assumed office on Monday, July 14, 2025, as the sixth Vice Chancellor of the pioneer Islamic faith-based University in Nigeria.
