The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs has strongly condemned the defaming the character of the Kogi State Accountant General, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani. This unwarranted attack on her integrity is unacceptable and should be roundly rejected by all well-meaning citizens. Those who have taken to social media to spread falsehoods and maliciously defame her character should desist from such actions, as they not only harm individuals but also undermine the peace and progress of our state.
The achievements of the Accountant General are well-known and appreciated by the people of Kogi State, particularly in Kogi East, West, and the majority of Kogi Central. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving development projects and initiatives that have improved the lives of many Kogites. It is, therefore, disheartening to see some individuals, driven by selfish interests, seek to tarnish her reputation through baseless attacks. The Executive Secretary has passed a vote of confidence in the Accountant General, commending her for her dedication and commitment to the development of Kogi State.
I commend Ustaz, the owner of the BMT Ebira Facebook blog, for his role in promoting peace and discouraging defamation. His efforts to address this issue and promote a positive online environment are truly commendable. I also appreciate the Ebira Concerned Women Association for coming out to address the root causes of this defamation and offering valuable advice to the youth on how to use social media responsibly.
To those who have been used as pawns in this game of defamation, I urge you to be mindful of your actions and consider the consequences of your words. Remember that it is your name that is at stake, and your leaders may abandon you when things get out of hand. Let us all strive to promote a culture of respect, kindness, and responsibility online.
Finally, I want to express my appreciation to Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani for her motherly care and leadership. Despite the challenges she has faced, she has remained a great woman, and her contributions to the development of Kogi State are undeniable. I pray that she will continue to be blessed with good health, wisdom, and strength as she serves the State.
