The member representing Yagba Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, has stated that Governor Usman Ododo’s re-election bid for a second term is a done deal, given the governor’s impressive developmental achievements across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State.
The lawmaker disclosed this in a chat with journalists yesterday, noting that he has no intention of contesting for the governorship in 2027, as he is focused on completing his tenure and seeking re-election as a House Representative member.
He said that despite having contested against him in the 2023 Governorship Election, their relationship has transcended politics, and they now share a bond like brothers, with him having unrestricted access to the governor at any time.
He described Governor Usman Ododo as a man of simplicity and humility personified, pointing out that he has redefined governance in Kogi State. As a result, he will utilize all available resources at his disposal to support the governor’s re-election bid.
He expressed confidence that more people are convinced about Governor Ododo’s capacity to deliver, particularly in the eastern flank of the state. He added that, as a result, the governor’s re-election bid is likely to be a smooth ride at this time.
