
Kogi State Government, through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Kogi RAAMP) in collaboration with the State Ministry of Energy and Rural Development, is set to officially flag off the construction of the 12.5km Unosi–Odonto–Ogigiri rural road in Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by the RAAMP Communication Officer, Mr Ndamodu Ali, the landmark event is expected to hold on Tuesday, 12th August, 2025, at Adogo, Ajaokuta LGA by 10:00 AM, and will be performed by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, fondly described as the “Chief Servant” and “Rural-Friendly Governor.”
The ceremony will have the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Engr. Abdulmutalib Muhammad, as Chief Host; Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Sani Egidi Abdulraheem (SEA), as Host; and the Executive Chairman of Ajaokuta LGA, Hon. Aliyu Haruna Ogido, as Co-Host.
Announcing the event, the State Project Coordinator of Kogi RAAMP, Engr. Sheidu Obansa Adamu, urged residents and stakeholders to be part of the historic moment, noting that the road project falls under the RAAMP intervention aimed at boosting rural connectivity, agricultural marketing, and economic growth.
The project is expected to improve access to farmlands, enhance transportation of agricultural produce, and foster socio-economic development in the benefiting communities.
“Come one, come all, and witness the transformation of our rural infrastructure,” the announcement reads.
