The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to improving healthcare service delivery, as underscored by the significant outcomes of the recent Quarterly Performance Dialogue focused on key health indicators at the state level. During the Second Quarterly Performance Dialogue for 2025, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams, highlighted the critical importance of this commitment. He noted that the dialogue serves as a vital platform for reviewing essential health indicators and exploring strategies to leverage data for informed decision-making.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Momoh Steven, Dr. Adams stated, “As we gather here today,

I want to emphasize the crucial role that data-driven decision-making plays in our collective efforts to enhance healthcare outcomes in our state. Accurate and reliable data is the cornerstone of effective healthcare planning, implementation, and evaluation.”Over the past quarter, Kogi State has made notable strides in strengthening its health systems, improving service delivery, and enhancing the overall well-being of its citizens. However, the government acknowledges that challenges persist and opportunities for further advancement remain.
Through this dialogue, the Health Commissioner articulated the state government’s objectives, which include reviewing progress against key health indicators, such as maternal and child health, infectious disease control, and healthcare access. Identifying areas of strength and weakness and discussing strategies for improvement. Exploring innovative ways to leverage data and technology to inform decision-making and drive healthcare transformation.
Mr. Momoh Steven reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to rich and insightful discussions, which will lead to actionable recommendations that propel the state forward in its healthcare initiatives.
