The leaders of Kinami Development Association have conferred an Award of Excellence on the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf for his developmental strides since assumption of office and for appointing one of their sons as an aide.
The Award was presented to him on Saturday in Lokoja during a working/congratulatory visit.
The group described the speaker as a humanitarian who understands the needs of their people and is using his position to address some of them.
They used the occasion to inform the speaker about some of the development challenges their community has continued to face, especially in the area of education, an area they sought his intervention.
Responding, the Speaker thanked the group for the visit and promised to address their educational challenges, especially in the area of improved infrastructure for basic education because their children are interested in getting educated.
He appealed to them to mobilise and vote massively for the APC in the November 11 gubernatorial election.
