
KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT MOURNS PROFESSOR OLU AKEREJOLA
1. The Government and people of Kogi State received with deep shock the news of the passing of our illustrious son, Professor Olu Akerejola, a distinguished indigene of Ogori in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the State and a former Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
2. Professor Akerejola was a detribalized Nigerian, a renowned scholar, and a great patriot who devoted his life to knowledge, service and the pursuit of unity—both within Kogi State and across the nation. His commitment to building bridges among our people and his belief in the ideals of one united Nigeria remain an indelible legacy.
3. As a government, we mourn the loss of this outstanding son of Kogi, whose intellect, humility and passion for development brought pride to our State. We stand with the Akerejola family, the people of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, and indeed the entire people of Kogi State in this moment of grief.
4. May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
