The Zonal Security Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kogi State in charge of Ankpa Federal Axis, Ankpa district,
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, has identified entrepreneurship and skill acquisition as one of the major ways through which the youth can be engage thereby reducing the rising security challenges in the society.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed who is the former Deputy Speaker of Kogi state, stated this during an interactive session organized by the Ankpa Peoples Association (FAPA), in collaboration with Ankpa local government council and security agencies, youth leaders and other critical stakeholders.
He described the theme of the interactive session “Entrepreneurship: A Remedy to Crime Control, Self-Reliance, and Nation Building” as timely and impactful , noting that the session brought together a diverse group of individuals from communities, security officers and youth leaders that are united by a common goal.
The former Deputy Speaker, said the meeting was aimed at
exploring how entrepreneurship can serve as a solution to reducing crime, empowering individuals, and contributing to the growth of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
He said “It was evident that fostering self-reliance through entrepreneurship not only helps individuals build sustainable livelihoods, but also plays a crucial role in crime prevention.
“By providing the youth with skills and opportunities for meaningful work, we can create a more secure and prosperous community.
“The exchange of ideas between the youth leaders, who shared their experiences with entrepreneurial ventures, and the security agencies, who offered practical insights into maintaining a safe and supportive environment for businesses, was both enriching and motivating”
He pointed out that, It has become clear that a partnership between the community, entrepreneurs, and security agencies is essential for achieving lasting solutions to issues of security, community and nation. development
