Kogi A Construction Site

Kogi state is fast becoming a construction site owing to the numerous construction works embarked upon by the Governor Usman Ododo administration.

The state Commissioner for Information and Communications Kingsley Fanwo stated this in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja.

He said in the health sector, about two hundred and fifty primary health care centers as well as one General Hospital per Local Government were undergoing remodelling to include staff quarters and equipment to meet the health needs of the people.

He also said that the construction of the Teaching hospitals for Prince Abubakar University, Anyigba was ongoing as the government had renewed the license for the medical schools.

The commissioner disclosed that several construction works were also ongoing at the Kogi state University Kabba while procurement process was ongoing for works at the College of Education Technical Mopa.

Mr Fanwo emphasised that the government was not only focusing on tertiary education but had built model secondary schools in some Local Governments.

The commissioner who said work was steadily progressing at the new international market at crusher, noted that the decision to relocate the market was because the current one is standing at an interjection between a federal highway and a state road and often results in traffic grid lock and accidents.

Speaking on road construction, Mr Fanwo, said the Ododo administration had constructed roads in some local governments and flagged of construction in many others.

According to the Commissioner, the governor was carrying out financial engineering to make funds available for priority projects.

He maintained that these massive projects been executed across the state by Governor Ododo was as a result of increased allocation coming for the federal government through the ingenuity of President Bola Tinubu who took the bull by the horns to remove fuel subsidy and free more resources for federal and state governments to develop.
