The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, participated in the 4th Annual International Conference and Summit of the Stand-up for Women Society International (SWS). Held from the 9th to the 13th of September, 2025, at the Lagos Airport Hotel, the event brought together women leaders and representatives from all 36 states of Nigeria and various diaspora countries.
The conference, themed “From Potential to Powerhouse: Equipping Women to Elevate and Thrive,” served as a significant forum for discussing women’s empowerment and leadership. The Deputy Speaker’s presence underscored her commitment to gender inclusion and her support for the crucial work of the SWS. She stated that the theme was not just a slogan but a blueprint for action that aligns with the vision of the state’s leadership.
During the event, several distinguished Matrons and Patrons were honoured for their outstanding contributions and support for the society. The Deputy Speaker also appreciated the award recipients, recognizing their role as key partners in the mission to create a better society for all.
The Deputy Speaker’s participation highlights her dedication and that of the Kogi State legislature to championing policies that promote gender equality.
The event showcased the collective strength and unity of Nigerian women, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in creating an environment where every woman can thrive.
