
In a continued effort to promote inclusivity and equitable participation in governance, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ibaji State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, today, Wednesday 8th October 2025, re-presented her Private Member Bill titled “A Bill for a Law to Provide for Gender Representation in Public Offices in Kogi State, and for Other Matters Connected Therewith, 2025.”
The re-presentation follows necessary corrections and fine-tuning to strengthen the provisions of the Bill, ensuring clarity and alignment with the principles of fairness, justice, and gender balance in governance.
The Deputy Speaker reaffirmed that the Bill seeks to promote fairness, inclusivity, and equitable gender representation in appointments and elective positions within the state’s public service. She emphasized that gender balance in governance is a vital step toward achieving social justice, effective leadership, and sustainable development in Kogi State.
