Representing Kogi State Government as a Non -State Actor at the 2025 Global Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, was a truly humbling experience.
Delegates from across the world, from governments to civil society, academia, and citizen movements converged with one shared goal: to make governance more open, inclusive and accountable.
For me, it was a moment of reflection on how far we’ve come in Kogi’s OGP journey and how much potential lies ahead.
The summit reminded us that open governance isn’t a project or policy trend. it’s a mindset built on trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility.
Kogi State’s participation reaffirmed our growing presence in the global open governance ecosystem, and our determination to strengthen transparency, participation, and innovation at the state level.
In the coming posts, I’ll share key takeaways that can help us deepen the implementation of the Kogi State OGP State Action Plan (SAP) 2024–2026 and translate global ideas into local impact.
