My aspirations is to serve Ogori-Magongo people —-Orayen Mosisuga

A leading Chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming local government election in Kogi State, Nathaniel Orayen Mosisuga has said that his decision to vie for the position was borne out of his desire to serve the people meritoriously.

Speaking on Wednesday at NUJ press centre in Lokoja , while interacting with Journalists, Mosisuga who will be contesting the Chairmanship of Ogori-Magongo local government area under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), stated that welfare of the people at the grassroots has been his major priority and motivation to serve.

He said “This is the time to lay proper foundation for Ogori-Magongo and this is the time to take development to the people and prioritize the welfare and well being of our youth, women and the elderly.

“I am a social democrat who believe so much in welfarism of the people especially the elders who suppose to enjoy minimum healthcare services and stipends provided by the local government” he said .

Speaking further the APC aspirant opined that politics , leadership and governance should not be left for people who does not have job to do.

“Every qualified citizens should go into politics to help build our local government, our state and the nation in general” he stated

While lamenting that most of the skills such as soap making , cloth weaving among others that generated income for women in the past has been abandoned , promised that if given the mandate he will empower women to bring back the lost glories.

“I sincerely believe that our people standard of living can improve. In the past women engaged in soap making, cloth weaving and preparation of local delicacies that earn them income, but today such money ventures has been abandoned .

“As a priority, I will support the women so that those good days can come back so that Ogori-Magongo local government economy can improve” he said.
