Attacks on Niger school, others, plans to discredit Tinubu’s administration’ – Sen. Karimi

The Senator representing Kogi West, Mr Sunday Karimi, has condemned the recent spate of attacks and kidnappings of schoolchildren in Niger State and others in the country.

Karimi, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator, in a statement on Friday in Lokoja. described the violence as calculated acts by mischief‑makers intent on smearing President Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Karimi highlighted that the recent kidnapping of schoolgirls in Niger and Borno States is a deliberate attempt to discredit President Tinubu’s leadership.

Karimi called on all Nigerians to remain steadfast in their confidence in the government, reiterating the President’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property.

He urged state governors to adopt community‑based security measures as the first line of defence, advocating the establishment of Community Security Agencies to complement federal efforts.

He emphasised that citizen participation through vigilant reporting and active involvement is crucial for protecting communities.

The senator warned that the school‑related abductions are part of a broader insecurity pattern in Nigeria, but asserted that the conspirators’ plans will ultimately fail.
