

RT. HON. COMFORT EGWABA CHAMPIONS SOCIAL PROTECTION AT ACT NAIJA INAUGURAL MEETING IN ABUJA
Advocating for robust social protection systems, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly (KSHA), participated in a high-level national meeting today, Tuesday, 25th November 2025. She represented Kogi State at the Inaugural National Advisory Working Group Meeting of the ACT NAIJA Project, held at the Reiz Continental Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja.
The meeting, supported by the European Union and development partners, focused on strengthening social protection mechanisms in Nigeria. During her contribution, the Deputy Speaker emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between Federal and State governments to build systems that genuinely support vulnerable citizens, particularly in Kogi State.
“Social protection is not just a policy but a fundamental investment in human capital and peace,” Rt. Hon. Egwaba stated. She noted that the Legislature remains steadfast in advancing policies and programs designed to reinforce safety nets and enhance the wellbeing of citizens.
The gathering provided a platform for key stakeholders, government representatives, and partners to harmonize strategies and coordinate effective implementation under the ACT NAIJA framework.
