

The first and second sets of graduates from Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, have been charged to serve as good ambassadors of the institution as they venture into the larger society.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, CUSTECH Osara, Emeritus Professor Olu Obafemi, made this charge during the university’s maiden combined convocation ceremony held on over the weekend at the institution’s Convocation Arena.
Meanwhile, In a significant highlight of the convocation ceremony, the newly invested Chancellor of the university, HRM Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II, the Onojie of Ekpoma Kingdom, pledged his commitment to building CUSTECH,Osara into a source of national pride.
Speaking after his investiture by the Governor and Visitor to the university, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, the Chancellor declared: “Let me say without equivocation that we will collectively build a CUSTECH that will be the source of great pride, not only to the people of Kogi but to Nigeria at large.”
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita, in his address, at the maiden convocation ceremony, commended the visionary qualities of the founder of CUSTECH Osara, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his foresight in establishing an institution that will empower generations in society.
Prof. Asipita expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State and Visitor to the university, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the university. He described Governor Ododo as “a bridge between the visionary beginning and a flourishing future of CUSTECH Osara.”
The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the giant strides made by his predecessor, Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku, for laying a solid foundation that ensured CUSTECH Osara took off on the right foot.
The Vice Chancellor charged the graduating class to uphold the values and standards of CUSTECH Osara as they integrate into the larger society, urging them to make their alma mater proud through excellence in their various endeavors.
It is worthy of note that 31 students bagged first class degrees out of a population of 266 students .
