

The Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Egwaba has stated that the Ibaji local government political project is over and above any personal interest, assuring that appointees from the council would continue to work together in order to move the local government forward.
Speaking during her 59th birthday cerebration held on Saturday at Assembly Quarters in Lokoja, the Deputy Speaker , said the unity and common understanding that has existed among all the political appointees from Ibaji local government has contributed to peaceful coexistence of the area.

She assured that they would continue to speak with one voice politically to ensure that Ibaji attained it’s desired development.
The Deputy Speaker who expressed enormous gratitude to all the political appointees from Ibaji and her colleagues from Kogi House of Assembly that graced the occasion, noted that words alone are not enough to appreciate the presence of every body.
Speaking on the traditional title bestowed on her by Ohinoyi of Girinya Kingdom as the Gimbiya Mata Girinya, Rt. Hon. Egwaba described the honour done on her as another feather added to her status.
While commending the Kingdom for the honour, assured that she would never take the title for granted.
“I will never take this honour done on me by the people of Girinya kingdom for granted because in my life I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly.
“I have to thank and give glory to Almighty God for sparing our lives to witness the year 2026. I thank those that have come to share in my joy” she stated.
When asked about her second term ambition in the state House of Assembly, the Deputy Speaker without mincing words attributed that, to the decision of Ibaji people.

In our political sharing, the House of Assembly goes to Ibaji upland and the local government chairman goes to Ibaji riverine area. I came from upland and when a House of Assembly member did well , the people and the leaders can give the occupant of the position a second term to re-contest.
“So if Ibaji people asses my performance and found me worthy of recontesting there is no negotiation and who am I not to heed to their decision. I will continue to keep my slogan “Change the narrative” high in the interest of Ibaji development” the Deputy Speaker noted.
