These attributes perfectly describe His Royal Highness, Oba Adesoji Aro, the Obaloko of Iloko Egbe, whose emergence as the traditional ruler was a product of collective community support and recognition of merit. Prominent sons and daughters of Iloko, as well as the state authorities, saw in him the qualities needed to steer the town toward greater growth and unity.

Therefore, it is important to correct the misconception that the government imposed Oba Adesoji Aro on the people of Iloko. On the contrary, the government merely acted to uphold due process, preserve the sanctity of tradition, and affirm the will of the people.
