The twenty one local government areas of kogi state have proposed a total of over one hundred and thirty one billion naira for the twenty twenty fiscal year.
This was cantained in a letter forwarded to the assembly by the commissioner for ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs Barrister Salami Ozigi.
Reading the correspondence on the floor of the house, the speaker, prince Mathew kolawole said the money bill has a proposed recurrent expenditure of over seventy billion naira while the capital expenditure stands at over sixty billion naira.
He said the letter explained that due to the lack of elected council chairmen in the councils, the ministry deemed it fit to present the appropriation bill noting that its early passage would fast track development at the grassroot level.
Meanwhile during plenary the House screened and confirmed mrs Ohiani Felicity Eneze as member kogi state judicial commission.
Mrs Ohiani replaces Onimisi Tokunbo Ajoge who died recently.
