The Commissioner for transportation Mr Okwoli Baron Says plans are on the way to open up the water ways as an alternative means of transportation in kogi state.
Mr Baron who made this known in an interview with our correspondent in lokoja, kogi state, said there was need for government to diversify the means of transportation considering the geopolitical location of the state.
The commissioner also said as part of Governor Yahaya Bello led administration effort to Combat security challenges, the ministry would be relocating commuters to Lokoja Mega park at felele to dissuade people from boarding vehicles at road side.
On the need for more Vehicles to aid Inter-state movement , the commissioner stated that the ministry has resolved that the best way to make transport sector viable was to synergize with Private Public Partnership to ensure PPP to there were enough vehicles to convey people without government intervention.
