The french revolution of July 14th 1789 was obviously caused by a multitude of grievances more complicated than the price of bread, but shortage of bread played a role in stoking anger toward the monarchy, Marie Antoinette’s supposed quote upon hearing that her subject had no bread, “let them eat cake” is entirely apocryphal, but it epitomizes how bread could become a flash point in the french revolution.
In the Bible, Moses was anointed to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt after a supposed 450years slavery and subjugation. After so many plagues, the children of Israel set out for Canaan, a supposed land flowing with milk and honey!
After the subsequent rigmarole in the wilderness, they were face with hunger and starvation. They lacked bread, cucumber, onions and other favorite meal they were used to in Egypt. The first attempted revolt was recorded there. They told Moses to return them back to Egypt where they have abundant of foods to eat instead of killing them in the wild!
God, intervened and rained down wafers, and quail which they ate until they were filled.
I took my time to go deep into history to pick out instances where man revolt for lack of care, food and clothing.
The best way to a man’s heart, according to biblical passage in the books of proverbs is his stomach!
I borrowed the above mantra; HERE,THERE AND EVERYWHERE, made popular by Hon. Kuli, the house of assembly candidate for YAGBA east and a political son to ELDER LEKE ABEJIDE, to expose the attribute God has given to Elder leke Abejide to captivate the heart of the masses in YAGBA.
In every where we visited in YAGBA land, one prayer that re occurred to him was for God to bless him more because he took away poverty from the widows; clothes them and stop women from mental and emotional slavery of collecting SEAP, LAPO, GROOMING and so on in order to pay one of the bi-focal cost of requirements for their secondary school graduating children; WAEC.
Like the french and the children of Israel, yagba people are ready to revolt against any attempt to stop these great economic relief.
Everywhere we went, curse resonated upon anyone who may stand on the way of Elder Leke Abejide reelection.
Elder Leke Abejide is a student of history and must have studied why men revolt, and why men remain adamantly loyal and faithful to a course.
Here, there and everywhere, it’s prayer for this JOSEPH, the son of ABEJIDE. He has detected the secret to a man’s heart and is presently dwelling in their heart, and he is not ready and eager to vacate soon.
Perhaps, after 2027, when his second term will have ended, another person in YAGBA might have detected another reason why man revolt and anchor out the best way to obliterate such pain in the heart of our people.
