Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny :The Legislator with a Difference

Spread the love

It is the Christian holy book that says “when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked man rules, the people groan”
Similarly, Emmanuel James Rohn popularly known as Jim Rohn and a motivational speaker said that the good deed of a leader is to help those who are doing poorly to well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.
The two quotations above aptly describe the leadership qualities of Hon Ademola Destiny, member representing the good people of Mopamuro Local Government in Kogi State House of Assemblywhen one accessed his contributions towards the socio-economic and political developments of his constituents.
It is therefore not an over statement to describe Mopamuro constituents as lucky in having a responsible and worthy representative in the person of Hon Ademola Bello  Destiny in the state assembly.
The humble young leader has always prioritised the interests and welfare of his constituents than his since joining politics and even during his private life. He is a politician who believes that without the people, he could not have been voted for as a legislator. It is therefore pertinent for him to serve the interest of the electorate who in love willingly gave him their mandate.
The legislator does not only sponsor people oriented bills that have turned around the socio-economic and political life’s of his constituents, he ensures that financial assistances are given to the people to ease their burdens.
For example, when Mopamuro students in higher institution of learning such as Kogi State Polytechnic, FCE Akoko Ondo State and Kogi State University Ayingba completed their semester examinations and had no money to transport home, the legislator made available luxurious buses to convey the students to their various homes without stress. He bore their pains. What a good leader.
Lending credence to this noble act, a student of Kogi State University, Ibigbemi Ayo ,affirmed that Hon Ademola Bello Destiny has always rendered them such assistance even when he was not a parliamentarian.
According to him, Hon Destiny often meet their needs when they least expect his assistance.
This, Ijagbemi opined, was one of the reasons the students cast their votes en mass for Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja during the November 16,2019 Kogi State governorship election.
Also speaking to acknowledge and appreciate Hon Ademola Bello Destiny’s kind gesture towards the students body, one of their leaders, Comr. Since Obasun Matthew said the legislator has always been their saviour at critical time, especially at the end of semester examinations when they are financially dry.
He said this accounted for why the students align with the Honourable Member’s political ideology and cast their votes without reservation for the All Progressives Congress(APC) governorship candidate in the last gubernatorial election.
There is no doubt that food is one of the basic needs of man but it is not readily available for all, especially the masses, at all time. As a leader who naturally likes to make life easy for the less privileged in his constituency, he decided to make his constituents celebrate Christmas and New Year celebrations without stress by procuring 50 bags of rice and other food items which he shared to them even across party lines.
Hon Ademola Bello Destiny, who is Chairman House Committee on Transport, Commerce and Industry is a man with a difference. As a man well brought up in traditional culture and we’ll read, he has not allowed his being a legislator make him raise his shoulders unnecessarily. He is humble and accords the desired respect to traditional rulers as he paid homage to the Chairman of Mopamuro Traditional Council, HRH Oba Julius Joledo and other traditional rulers during the last Yuletide celebration.
During the visit, he thanked the royal fathers for their prayers and fatherly advice that have kept the entire local government area together as well as sustain peace.
He solicited their unwavering support for the APC-led government of Alh Yahaya Bello so as to usher in more developments in the area.
It was good to know that being an open fisted legislator, he donated packages and cash to each of the royal fathers who in turn blessed him with prayers .
Besides the above, Hon Destiny who knows the value of education which is the main industry of Okun people, he readily made available cash to assist 55 students of Mopamuro extraction who were preparing for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board examination.
This was to ease the financial burden of the candidates and their parents as well as to fulfill part of his electioneering campaign promises.
The exercise was carried out through his personal and special assistance on students affairs, Comr Kolawole Afolabi and Abereoran Joko in conjunction with Comr. Olusola Abel, Victor Anjorin, Olarewaju Tosin, and Joseph Solomon who all represented Voice of Mopamuro Youths(VOMY).
As a grassroots politician who is aware of the needs of his constituents and always looking for means to make life comfortable for them. It is against this background that he empowered one of his constituents, Oluwaseun Gabson in ward 01, Mopamuro Local Government Area with a sewing machine.
During the donation of the sewing machine, Hon Destiny who was represented by his media aide, Akogun Promise Idowu, said he was committed to fulfilling his campaign promises.
He appreciated the people, saying that his emergence as the people’s representative at the House of Assembly was by the reason that they gave him their mandate.Aside from this empowerment program, Hon Destiny also empowered 100 widows and widowers with the sum of #5000 each respectively. There is no doubt that the people of Mopamuro are rejoicing now for making the right electoral decision in electing Hon Ademola Bello  Destiny as their representative in the state assembly. If barely one year he has put on record the above modest achievements, there is hope that as a good lobbiest , he will put necessary machineries in place and attract more democracy dividends as well as social infrastructural developments to his constituency
