Ilorin-born Binta Ismail is cornerstone of immunization in Nigeria, says NPHCDA By Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin

The agency tasked with overseeing the overall primary healthcare in Nigeria, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) has lauded the Ilorin-born manager, Hajia Binta Ismail, describing her as the cornerstone of immunisation in Nigeria.

The Executive Director /Chief Executive Officer of the NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib made the remarks during the sendoff programme held in honour of Binta Ismail who retired recently from the agency at Adamu Maina Waziri Conference Hall, Ajuji Hotel, Abuja.

Binta, who until her retirement was the Programme Manager of the National Emergency Routine Immunization Coordination Centre (NERICC), was described as one of the agency’s finest staff.

Shuaib further described her “as the cornerstone of Nigeria’s Routine Immunization”; noting that she dedicated her life to serving humanity.

He added that, Hajia Binta’s exceptional leadership skills was acknowledged by all staff members where she received lots of well wishes from everyone present.

In her remarks, Hajia Binta thanked the Almighty Allah for His abundant mercy in her life, while also expressing her gratitude to the leadership of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency [NPHCDA] for not only trusting her to coordinate several Agency flagship programmes but also supporting her with an enabling environment.

Binta said the highly technical and committed staff she worked with all through her stay in the agency accounted for all the encomiums poured on her by Dr Faisal Shuaib, the Directors, other colleagues and Partners.

She therefore urged the management staff to continue to provide the necessary platforms for up coming staff to blossom as the Agency is filled with highly technical staff who will contribute significantly to the Mandate of the Agency if given the opportunity.
