In life, there are those who are born great, some achieve greatness and others have greatness thrust upon them. Hon. Lawal Idirisu could be described as a man who went through the ladder of life to achieve greatness.
The story of Hon. Lawal Idirisu who hailed from Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi, is a riveting tall of a man who defied the pitiable circumstances of his birth as it was, to reach the top by sheer dint of had work. Indeed, this goes to validate Johnson’s assertion that: “men are limited not by the place of circumstance of their birth, nor by the colour of their skin but by the size of their dream and the content of their character”. His humble beginning made him appreciate that when you work hard towards a goal and you succeed in attaining it, the pride of that success is sweeter than when you get it on a platter of gold as you may not really know the value.
Hon. Lawal, Member, House of Representatives, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, is a man of uncommon destiny, remarkable character and outstanding accomplishment. And ofcourse, he is a leader whose focus is on discovering people’s potentials, harnessing and development them to uplift the society. This is one quality that some leaders in the area failed to accomplish.
Hon. Lawal, is unarguably a dignified symbolic political personality in Ajaokuta Local Government, today. As a prolific business tycoon and seasoned politician, he knows how to make his voice heard when there is a noble cause to defend his people. He remains a courageous defender of social justice. As a budding political mentor, he is not given to flippancy nor vainglory but a man of immense political value daggling other watchers of political events in his mastery of political craftsmanship.
Since he ventured into partisan politics, he has established himself with unquenchable thirst for excellence. Hon. Lawal, understands the political environment of Ajaokuta political landscape that has equipped him with the wherewithal for political diagnosis, giving him a physician’s grip of the political superstructure hungry for perfection.

To cap it all, the political enigma of the federal legislator continues to dazzle all, through credible Leadership and legislative acumen, so, whatever the level of elitist gangs-up, he needs not lose sleep over his Third Term bid, as he has the people behind him. Interestingly, it is easy to accept that the people of Ajaokuta Local Government can now sift the shaft from the grain out of the three contending aspirants, Hon. Lawal, would remain the best choice to represent them at the National Assembly, comes 2023.
