Kogi state  assembly confirms veteran journalist,Amoka as Clerk, says staff welfare his priority.

The Kogi house Of assembly has confirmed the appointment of veteran journalist, and one time Chairman Kogi state council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Alhaji Ibrahim Amoka as the clerk of the assembly.

Amoka ,who until his appointment was a director, Information services,of the assembly was confirmed as the substantive administrative head at plenary on Tuesday

Speaking shortly after his confirmation in an interview, the clerk said that enhancing the welfare of the staff of the assembly will form his area of focus during his time as the clerk.

He said that as somebody who is passionate about welfare of those around him,he will immediately made memo to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello through the Speaker on the need to make additional means of transportation available to staff considering the distance of the assembly complex to the metropolis.

Amoka who expressed optimism about the Governors granting of his request expressed gratitude to the Governor and the Speaker, Mathew Kolawole for giving him the opportunity to express himself as someone who is passionate about people and always loved to make them happy.

“I am such a person who likes to see those around me to be happy,and this position will avail me the opportunity of expressing myself as a humane person,and for this I am grateful to the Governor.” Amoka said.

Asked what he would like to me remembered for,the Clerk said that, putting smiles on the face of people always makes him feel fuffiled adding that “I will like to be remembered that a humane person, passionate about enhancing the well-being of the people once passed through the assembly”.
