Kwara: Fake military officer, two others in NSCDC net for alleged burglary, theft

A 41-year-old man, Abdulkadir Bolaji, has been arrested by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly parading himself as a soldier.
Similarly, two other suspects, Olalekan Adeniyi, 32, and Dare Ajiboye, 31, alleged to have been involved in series of burglary incidents in Lakele community, Oro, in Irepodun local government area of the State have also been arrested, according to a statement by the Command’s spokesman, Babawale Zaid Afolabi.
The spokesman said: “Olalekan Adeniyi, 32, runs a shop where stolen items are being displayed and sold to unsuspected buyers as second hand or Tokunbo. His accomplice, Dare Ajiboye, 31, also claimed to be a deejay and also working as a sales boy at Olalekan’s shop.
“The three suspects and others now at large were responsible for numerous cases of burglary and theft that have become rampart in Lakele area, Oro.
“For the past few months, there have been reported cases of burglary and theft in Lakele area, Oro, irepodun local government area of the State and the community in collaboration with the NSCDC officers in the area decided to track down those behind the nefarious acts.
“So, the efforts of the community and the NSCDC paid off recently when some of the stolen items were found at a shop in that community. Further investigations revealed that stolen items from burglary and house breaking are being sold at that shop.
“Items recovered from the shop include plasma televisions, play stations, cctv cameras (360 degree), among others.”
Meanwhile, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, has been briefed about the incident and has ordered manhunt for other members of the gang, while further investigations continue.
