The Kwara Government on Tuesday applaud Federal Establishment for their contribution towards the development of the state.
Mrs Bukola Babalola, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Gov. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, made the commendation during the 2022 End of Year Sendforth for Retirees and Transferees of National Forum of Heads of Federal Government Establishments.
She observed that the state is grateful to the immense contributions of the Federal Parastals and Agencies in the state who are partnering the state government in its developmental goals.
According to her, the state has become destination where people migrate to from across the country.
She observed that this is due to the peaceful atmosphere and the welcoming people in the state.
In his goodwill message, Mr Mustapha Ajara, the Kwara State Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), noted that the agency is striving hard to ensure traffickers are brought to justice.
He explained that trafficking has to do with exploitation of, and taking advantage of vulnerable people.
According to him, exploitation of vulnerable can be internally within the country or externally.
Ajara pointed out that Kwara being a transit route between the Northern and South-Westhern Nigeria makes it important, adding that it also has international borders.
He noted that the agency is very active in the state due to this strategic placement and geographical location of the state, coupled with the fact that neighbouring state have problem of banditry and Kwara is always a safe haven.
In his submission, Dr Sam Okunade, the Director of Research, Durable Crops Research Department of NSPRI, advised Nigerians to prioritize effective and safe storage of foods, to prevent from spoilage.
He admonished Nigerians to Kay emphasis on stocking up food to prevent hunger, warning that people should not priorititize expensive clothings to foods.
Okunade stated that the institute has many technological innovations capable of solving the food storage needs of the nation, while advising people to advantage of such innovation.
Mr. Segun Adeyemi, the NOA Kwara State Director added that as the country is fast approaching the 2022 National Election, people should avoid any electoral malpractice.
He enjoined Nigerians to vote peacefully according to their communities conscience.
Earlier in her opening remarks, Mrs Fausat Kadir, the Chairperson of National Forum of Heads of Federal Government Establishment in Nigeria explained that the programme is to bid retiring officers who are veteran of the civil service farewell and send them forth into blissful retirement.
Kadir added that the organisation has made series of achievement especially in establishment of Staff School for members whose students are doing well.
She however appealed to well meaning individuals and organisations to support the development of the school.
