Okene Agog as Late Bishop Haruna’s foster son pick a wife.
Okene local government and its environs on Friday and Saturday was agog when Suberu Danjuma James and Isah Bilkisu Helen are joined as husband and wife under the supervision of Rev. Canon Godwin Omanayi of the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew , Okene, Kogi State .
James is one of the fostered sons raised by late Bishop and Mama Haruna at Okene .
In his sermon at Bishop Crowder College of Theology, Okene , Rev. Canon Godwin Omanayi charged the new couples to allow Jesus Christ take the centre stage of their home so that the beginning and the end of their wedding can be fruitful and devoid of any devilish intrusion.
Describing marriage as a journey that every man and woman who are ready to marry must embark upon, the Clergyman , said the race can only be won if the two parties involve taking caution, embrace patient and high level of tolerance.
“It is expedient to always bear in mind that the extent of the race determines your speed at the beginning. The new couples should bear in mind that the race they are going into today is for a life time till death comes and as such they should start the race with utmost care , patient , fear of God and the lord will help them to end well”.
Reading from the book of proverb chapter 14 verse 1, the clergyman , said a wise woman build up her house but with her own hand the foolish ones pull the house down.
He charged the bride to respect and submit totally to the control of her husband in order to enjoy her marriage.
Urging the groom to be a wise man , Rev. Canon Omanayi described a wise man as a man that know God , fear God and obey the vow and value of the woman he married.
James is one of the youngest operators handling the 25 tons bucket HGV payloaders at the Obajana Cement Industry in Kogi state.
The young James received his training and formative years at the Oniyeka Solid Minerals Factory set up by Bishop Haruna’s family until it was shut down shortly after the Iron and Steel Industry also became moribund.
