As Muslims around the world are about to begin Ramadan fasting amidst the life-threatening global pandemic, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has began distribution of food stuffs to his constituents in order to mitigate the seeming hardship.
The lawmaker who had recently distributed various food items as palliatives to his constituents on the heels of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, has again commenced distribution of 1,200 bags of beans, 500 bags of Semovita and 500 packs of oil to his constituents across the five local government areas.
In a bid to ensure even and unbiased distribution of the items across Kogi Central Senatorial District, the lawmaker instructed his Personal Assistant (P.A), Mall. Abudulmumin Yusuf, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Bello Aliyu and all members of G10 to meticulously supervise the exercise.
Aside indigent constituents who are targeted as primary beneficiaries of this gesture, notable religious personalities and traditional rulers are also captured in the food distribution.
The families of late Islamic scholars that greatly contributed to the development of Islam in Ebiraland were equally not left out of the legislative largesse so also Imams of notable central mosques in Ebira land.
Also recognized are members of the three notable Youth groups of Islamiya specifically, Tijjaniyya, Ahli Sunna Wajamah and Shitte groups.
In his absolute reverence for the traditional rulers, Senator Oseni emphasized the need for all the notable traditional rulers not to be left out irrespective of their religion, as the five Ohi’s of Ebiraland, all the six first class chiefs and all the twenty (20) second class chiefs were captured to adequately benefit from the gesture.
All the Elders’ councils in Ebira and the community elders in all the five local government areas were also not left out as well as the Executive members of the four classified clan in Ebira land, Agada decendant, Okovi, Adehi and Upopuvete decendant.
Senator Oseni in his usual magnanimity did not relegate all the five local government SSAs on Security, the five local government and ward party chairmen across Kogi Central Senatorial district.
It was all-encompassing as the lawmaker, irrespective of political affiliation, recognized some notable stakeholders whose contributions to the development of Ebiraland he described as indelible.
He equally recognized other notable women and youth groups, same way he allocated some bags of beans to be distributed to notable group of people in 57 wards across the constituency.
Senator Oseni who has also began arrangements to reach out to his constituents living outside Kogi State especially those in Abuja, believed that the little gesture would go along way in assisting the people during the Ramadan period.
“Ee-huri Ama Oo-huga” he didactically said just as he reiterated his resolve not to relent in giving back to his constituents.
