
Kogi state house of assembly has called on the state ministry of works to remove fallen solar poles from the roads across lokoja metropolis as they pose danger to road users.
The call followed a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by the member representing Yagba East constituency, Jimoh Musa on the need for government to remove or replace the fallen solar street light poles at plenary in lokoja.
He observed that some of the fallen poles could cause accidents have been vandalised by criminals as the solar panels, batteries and bulbs were stolen.
The Speaker Prince Mathew Kolawole, who said it was saddening to see government property damaged all over the city directed the house committee on works to liase with the state ministry of works to ensure the damaged solar streetlights were fixed.
