THE REWARD FOR GOOD WORK IS MORE WORK…

It wasn’t a surprise to onlookers at the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly during the first sitting of the second legislative year of the 7th Assembly when the name of the man representing the vibrant people of Ijumu constituency Hon. Olusola Kilani Olumo was announced by the Rt. Hon. Speaker as the Chairman of the House Standing Committee in charge of Works, Infrastructure, Communication and Job Creation.
As we all know Hon. Kilani has been in charge of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology and he performed wonderfully well to the admiration of the Rt. Hon. Speaker and his other colleagues, been the only committee that has went on several oversight visit to the ministry of Education and agencies under it. Recently the Education committee lead by this vibrant parliamentarian when to the three Kogi State own higher institutions of learning in Kogi East Senatorial District and has submitted his findings and recommendations on the floor of the House. Many wished Hon. Kilani should be left in the Education committee to allow him build on the solid foundation laid already but the Rt. Hon. Speaker, a very intelligent leader and a very good friend and brother to Hon.Kilani has a totally different view. If Hon. Olumo can do this much in the Education committee in just one year then greater responsibility must be given to him..the speaker’s thought.

As we all know that the New Direction government lead by His Excellency Alhaji Yayaha Adoza Bello has promised to focus in his second term in office on Road Construction, infrastructure development and job creation for the State teeming youth who stood by him during his elections it is only wise for the State House of Assembly to Appoint a vibrant member in Hon. Olusola Kilani Olumo to head the committee that will supervise this giant move by the executive hence the Appointment of Hon. Kilani into the Committee on Works, Infrastructure, Communication and Job Creation.

Some has also argue that making Hon. Kilani Olumo the head of a Committee that has in it four key sector of our economy will overwhelmed him but may I say categorically that Hon. Kilani is equal to the task given to him by the leadership of the 7th assembly having been the Head of Technology for SAP(A leading ICT German company in Europe) for the whole of West African and performed creditable well before coming into politics, no doubt the new portfolio will be another feather to his cap.

Congratulations my boss, father and friend on this new appointment, it’s my prayer that God will grant you more wisdom and good health to achieve excellence in this new assignment.
