Following to the unabated activities of kidnapping and cultism in kogi state, the speaker prince Mathew kolawole, has directed the house committee on legal, justice and protocol to liase with the special adviser to the governor on legislative matters and the state attorney general to see how the state law on kidnapping and cultism can be reviewed.
He said that the activities of kidnappers and cultists in the state have become unacceptable and there was need to repeal and reenact the law to curb the menace.
Meanwhile some bills have passed second reading on the floor of the kogi state house of assembly.
The bills are, A bill for a law establishing the Nigeria-Korea friendship institute of vocational and advancement technology lokoja and other matters connected therewith twenty nineteen and a bill for a law on agricultural produce within kogi state and other matters connected therewith twenty nineteen.
The speaker committed the bills, to house joint committee on education, science and technology and legal, justice and protocol and house joint committee on agriculture and natural resources and legal, justice and protocol respectively for further legislative action.
In the meantime the kogi state house of assembly has screened and confirmed the reappointment of Sheik Luqman Imam as chairman kogi hajj commission.
Also screened and confirmed it the permernet member one of the commission Abdulraman Dangana .
Speaking to newsmen after the screening, chairman kogi state hajj commission, Sheik Luqman Imam promised to build on his previous successes.
He thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for finding him worthy to be reelected describing him as one who has always prioritised the welfare of the people of the state.
